New Artist – Album Review – Ashley Stacey – The Sun still Shines on you

One thing I’ve learnt over the last 6 months is that if you don’t ask you don’t get and if you don’t do it for yourself no one will do it for you.

Obviously you should be kind and considerate and nice with it.

So when Ashley asked me very nicely to listen to his album I totally agreed – we had a good chat about his music and influences and both of us are from South London so had a kinship already.

Ashley’s album is self written with two tracks self produced. Talented lad for sure.

So what does it sound like? – well its got that Oasis vibe about it for sure The Girl in the Earl is probably the most Oasis type song – singing about a girl being late home and meeting in a New Cross Pub. Its really bloody good.

To be fair though Ashley is more Noel then Liam and his vocals are similar but with that classy Sarf London tone to it that I know so well. 🙂 (Must stop the Michael Caine impressions now).

In an Empty Sky is a really strong song that has that first NG Album feel to it.

The production all the way through this album is really great and Ashley really chose well and they bring the songs to life.

There’s plenty to enjoy with this album – my favourite is the more acoustic This Time – nice orchestral backing over a great vocal and finishing with an almighty guitar solo which is part Prince and Slash. Its a belter of a song .

Hopefully that has whetted your appetite to hear more – please go and give Ash as try. Link is below.
