I’ve Got The Blues – The Shed Project

Heartbreak brings out the best songs in people…in many ways it’s the foundations of popular music…from the early blues to modern pop songs about lost loves, forlorn aching for those moments for one more time.

“I suppose it’s head down, just carry on” sings Roy on the Sheds new song and the next step in their impressive career to date.

This is as honest and heartfelt as any song that came before it.  Dedicated to two of Roy’s pals that left this mortal coil too soon it lays its heartbreak out for all to hear.

“Why does life take the good ones young?”

It could easily be a doom laden Nick Cave song but the lads have turned it into a modern rock epic that rekindles peak era Oasis with strings added to maximum effect that Embrace have used so brilliantly in the past to carry their emotions.

Adding the wonderful female vocals of band friend K D only heightens the impact and shows a softer and deeper side to the normal lads in a band sound.

In Roy they not only have a great “he’s one of us” frontmen but also a brilliant lyricist that is able to express his feelings so well that you can’t fail to be moved by the song.  The first time I heard a rough demo of the track I had goosebumps, this version adds goosebumps to those goosebumps.

A song that deserves its place on major radio stations across the land and sung by crying men at gigs forever more.

I’ve said before, they are the people’s band and they will not be denied.

The return to the Phoenix coming soon promises to be very special indeed.

See you down the front, tears in eyes.

Wonderful stuff.

Peace n Love

Michael
