When the Music’s over…play another record.

So as the dust settles from an amazing weekend of music and fundraising I’m left thinking what now? What’s next?

So despite my own little session being a disaster, the Inyourearsmusic sessions supporting #FBWMusic was a triumph…pulling together the great and good from a burgeoning new music scene from all over the country and into Europe.

Set after set after set managed to connect, trigger emotions in the hardest of souls.. grown men wept or was it just the onions?

But the overall theme was upbeat and if it was about fighting back from cancer it was also about new artists who are demanding to be heard, fighting back after a year of being stuck at home rather then gigging. It was a chance to blow some cobwebs off and show the 100s maybe 1000s of listeners what they are actually all about and what you can expect from them over the next few months and onwards.

My favourite sets were those from artists that I didn’t know much about or had never even listened to, to be surprised by music is one of life’s real treats, the rush of excitement you feel as the sound hits your ears, brings back the Xmas day feeling of being a kid. NOTHING Beats it!

I’ll certainly be checking out these Artists and making sure they know how much I enjoy what they are doing, then sharing their music as much as I can and spreading the word. I plead for you all to do the same.

But what else did we learn over this weekend. Well of course we showed support and generosity for the charity in our donations but for me the overriding success of the weekend was Community… musicians, bloggers, DJ’S, twitterers, the list goes on, all coming together as one and showing the support to each other all feeling the same thing – yes the last year has been hell and for some even worse then that, but the one thing that will unite us is the Power Of Music – it will get us through anything – it always has and always will.

Over this weekend we also showed anyone that was listening that good old indie music, guitar based music if you like to call it that is alive and well, and it is fighting back with Kimbo.

So for the likes of us old romantics out there I really feel there is a golden sunrise about to burst through the clouds, its not too dissimilar to the Moonlight Parade Tee-shirt I’m wearing right now and your gunna wanna get on this boat because its getting full, but we will always have space for one more, one love, one soul.

And as we march on – the community is getting bigger, the noise is getting louder – there is a scene and a scene comprised of the young, the old and everything in between – from the Highlands to the Lowlands, from the (Heavy) North to the South. Its inclusive and supportive its not po-faced and snot nosed. Its about good music and good fun with good friends.

So what now and what next? Well that’s just it – it doesn’t matter – lets live in the moment – enjoy the ride, lets see where it does take us. Feel it, breathe it in – It smells good – Butterflies, Goosebumps its gunna get you sooner or later.

Thank you everyone of you that was a part of the last weekend, that has been part of the last 12 months your all Leg Ends in my book.

Peace N Much Love

Michael
